My Famous Person From Vanuatu: Father Walter Hayde Lini
Born in 1942, Walter Hayde Lini served as a Vanuatuan politician, and he became well known and loved in Vanuatu as he stood for happiness and peace. He was that popular, that he became prime minister of the island between the era of 1980 to 1991: eleven good years. During his earlier years, Walter immigrated to New Zealand to study priesthood, but returned to his love of politics in 1971, moving back to his homeland, Vanuatu. He was part of the National Party (later known as the Vanua’aku Party), a group with sought independence and peace for the islands in the South Pacific as well as Vanuatu. Walter dedicated his whole life to this party, which won the general election many a time. Although Walter didn’t have a very poor upbringing, he is certainly special because he stood by what he thought politics should be about all through his time on the board. He was honest and told people what he believed in. He inspired many people to stand up for what they believed in. He was influenced by this. He died in 1999.

Hamish and Andy are an Australian comedy duo formed in 2003 by Hamish Blake and Andy Lee. They currently host the radio program The Hamish and Andy show which airs in Australia on the Today Network . Most famous for their work on television as correspondents on Rove from 2007 to 2009, they also created the sketch comedy series Radio Karate in 2003 and real stories in 2006, and hosted the variety show The Hamish and Andy Show in 2004. In addition, they have made numerous appearances hosting events, and competing on game shows and in celebrity sporting events.

Richard Erskine Leakey was born 19th December 1944. He is now 65 and a great Kenyan politician. In 1964 he met an archeologist named Margaret Cropper. They were married tin 1965. Their daughter Anna was born in 1969, the same year Margaret and Richard got a divorce. He married a colleuge, Meave Epps in 1970 and had two daughters; Louise(born 1972) and Samira(born 1974).

Penny Tai is a singer from 1978. She was born to a hakka family. Penny started songwriting at the age of 17, practicing in the hollo songwriting contest in Kuala Lumpur, a platform whitch also launched the career of fellow Malaysian singer Fish Leong. In 1999 she was offered a contract by EMI music (Taiwan) and moved to Taiwan to pursue a career of singing and songwritin. She released herself titled first album "Penny" in January 2000.

My Famous Person for Tanzania:
Julius Nycrere (Mi-rare-ee) was the first president of Tanzania. In 1964 he helped unite Tanganyika and Zanzibar. This united country was named Tanzania. He was the elected president in 1965 and was re-elected in 1970, 1975 and 1980. He also helped to bring together Tanzania’s many ethnic groups. He retired in 1985. He was born in 1922 and died in 1999.
